Australia reMADE: social media coordinator
Australia reMADE is looking for an experienced online communicator to fill our Social Media Coordinator Role.
While we expect the role to grow and develop over time we are initially seeking someone for between 7-14 hours per week at the contractor rate of $50/hr.
Reports to: National Coordinator
Direct reports: At this stage none, but may involve some management of volunteers in the future.
Timing: Initially a week or two full time and then approximately 7-14 hours per week until June – to be negotiated. Position may continue depending on funding.
The position will involve:
Working with the National Coordinator of Australia reMADE to develop and implement an online communications strategy;
Producing materials such as memes, infographics etc to increase Australia reMADE’s online audience and build deep engagement with the vision and Australia reMADE project;
Creating a supportive and safe online space for discussion, debate and community building around the ideas and processes for an Australia reMADE; and
Other duties as directed.
It is anticipated that this role will grow over time and expand to include management of volunteers etc.
Key skills necessary:
Demonstrated achievements in online communications, over at least 2 years;
Experience in not just building an audience but building an engaged online community;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Excellent design skills;
Deep commitment to the creation of an Australia reMADE;
A good working knowledge of the Australian political context; and
Ability to work from home with minimal supervision, unless in Hobart in which case office space may be available.
Desirable skills:
Experience in broader strategic coms work.
